Youth Ways Christmas Outing

To celebrate the end of term and the coming of the Christmas holidays this week Youth ways had a shopping trip to Belfast finished off by eating way too much at Cosmo’s in Victoria square. Well done to all the young people that have made it to the end of our first term of the year and a happy Christmas from all our staff here at Oasis in Antrim.

Presentation Evening

On Monday December 1st we had our 2nd prize giving evening here at Oasis Antrim. We celebrated the success of the young people who attended Oasis on the Youth Ways programme 2013/14.

The evening commenced with a lovely hot buffet in the social area and everyone had the chance to catch up and chat. The principals from St. Benedict’s College and Parkhall College came to show their support to our young people, as well as Danny Kinahan and representatives from Youth Justice and our Oasis Belfast office.
Pamela gave a warm welcome to the young people, parents, staff, volunteers and visitors.  An overview of the past year was presented to everyone. The certificates were then presented by Danny Kinahan, who also spoke highly of our programme.

It was a very important celebration as it enabled the potential of our young people to be realised and promoted.  In addition to achieving academic qualifications we also presented some of our young people with awards for other activities such as the Belfast Marathon and Duke of Edinburgh, as well as best all-rounder and best endeavour.
The evening came to a close with some photos being shown of the past year.
