Supported by Antrim Borough Council, Youth Ways have been involved in an art project, highlighting the dangers of solvent abuse in the community. With the help of a local artist, Neil Ward, a poster has been completed and is now being displayed on several billboards around the town as well as on some of the town’s bin lorries. In partnering with Antrim Youth Information and Counselling Service the young people shared their feelings on the dangers of using solvents, on how they strongly advocate against the use of them in our community and the importance of working towards making Antrim a safer place to live.
A number of the young people are now in training to run the Belfast Marathon on 6th May. They have been working on their fitness at the gym and have plans to get out soon and test their skills with some distance running. We have 7 young people in total who are planning to run in the relay marathon. We will keep you updated on their training, but put the date in your diary to come along to support them!!!!
